Keepers of the Wild — Where Adventure Meets Purpose
Wild Roots was established in early 2025 in response to the growing need to protect our wild lands and preserve the history that has been written across the Appalachian Trail.
At Wild Roots, we believe the Appalachian landscape tells a story worth protecting; one of endurance, resilience, and belonging. Stretching across 14 states and countless communities, these mountains have connected us all for thousands of years.
Our mission is simple: to save the wild things by connecting people to nature through adventure, conservation, and community.
Every initiative we lead is built on this belief. Whether you join a trail cleanup, plant a tree, sponsor a local orchard, or help guide little explorers as they learn- you’re helping us write the next chapter of "Our Appalachian Story".
Together, we are keepers of the wild.
Wild Roots was founded upon the simple belief that wild things need saved. We are committed to preserving land and wildlife corridors, educating our youth, strengthening communities, and fostering a deep connection with nature through adventure.
Wild Roots is a women-led nonprofit organization that deeply values diversity, equity and inclusion. We are committed to developing initiatives that tackle environmental, economic, and social challenges together.
Wild Roots was founded in early 2025 with a bold vision for a better, more sustainable future. As we embark on this journey, we are eager to cultivate strong connections, inspire meaningful action, and create lasting, positive change across the 14 states that are home to the Appalachian Trail.
